We talk a lot about the elite field, the broadcast, the purse — and we should, because it's historic. But none of it means anything if we're not also building the on-ramp. The whole reason we went to war to bring professional road racing back to American soil was so that the next big American talent doesn't have to set an alarm for 4 a.m. and search for inspiration on a European livestream. We want them to see it in person. To feel it. And then to line up themselves.
Registration is now open for the Junior Road Race at Levi's GranFondo, and it's FREE TO ENTER thanks to the incredible support of our biggest sponsors Skipstone and Cervélo.
We've designed two distinct race routes for the following categories:
U18 Men and Women: Geysers route (ages 16-18)
U15 Men and Women: Medio route (ages 13-15)
U18 Nonbinary: Geysers route (ages 16-18)
Juniors looking to take on the Gran or Growler routes are welcome to do so — you'll just need to register through the standard GranFondo registration process and will be placed in the U24 age group. The free junior entry applies exclusively to the Geysers and Medio categories listed above.
Start times, course details, and an updated rider guide are coming your way soon. In the meantime, if you know a kid who races, send this their way.
