Alex Howes is a former professional road cyclist and current gravel, mountain bike, and adventure racer. Over an illustrious 15-year career, Howes raced exclusively for the Slipstream Sports organization under its various team names (Garmin, Cannondale, and EF Education First). Known for his loyalty and versatility, he competed in five Grand Tours and won the U.S. National Road Race Championship in 2019.
In 2022, Howes transitioned away from WorldTour road racing to focus on gravel and adventure events. Now based in Nederland, Colorado, he balances his time as a father, husband, and cycling coach with Team EF Coaching. Howes describes himself as a “dedicated curator of good times,” embracing the freedom and creativity of alternative racing formats. His passion for cycling extends beyond competition; he is committed to introducing new riders to the sport and helping them thrive.
