Emily Newsom has always forged her own path. Entering competitive cycling at the unlikely age of 34, she quickly rose to the top of her field, traveling internationally from 2018 to 2022 to perform in the competitive races of Europe. In 2022 she was selected for the Tour de France Femmes—she later won the yellow jersey for a stage at the Tour de Pyrenees the same year.
Most recently, she’s set her sights on gravel racing, where she’s become a force to be reckoned with on the circuit. Despite suffering a hospitalizing crash early in 2023 that would have sidelined most riders for the duration of the season, she returned after a brief recovery, going on to win races and even be selected for the UCI Gravel Worlds. But Emily is more than just a cyclist at the top of her field—she’s also a dedicated wife and mother to a beautiful daughter.
“I live my life as an athlete caring for others, racing with respect, and inspiring other women and young girls to pursue their dreams.”
