Ian Boswell is a former professional road cyclist and current gravel racing star. Over a decade-long road career, he raced for teams such as Team Sky and Katusha–Alpecin, competing in all three Grand Tours, including completing the Tour de France in 2018. He also represented the U.S. National Team on the world stage and achieved top results in races like the Amgen Tour of California and the Tour of Utah.
A severe concussion in 2019 led Boswell to retire from road racing and transition to gravel events. In 2021, he won the prestigious Unbound Gravel 200 and has since become a leading figure in the gravel scene. Notably, he placed fourth in the inaugural Levi’s GranFondo Growler in 2024.
Beyond racing, Boswell thrives as an athlete liaison for Wahoo Fitness and hosts the “Breakfast with Boz” podcast, which explores cycling and broader lifestyle topics.
Now based in Peacham, Vermont, Boswell balances his athletic pursuits with family life on his farm. He also enjoys backcountry skiing and firefighting. Known for his thoughtful approach to sport, Boswell champions gravel racing’s camaraderie and accessibility while inspiring others through his journey of resilience and reinvention.
