Maurice Ballerstedt is a former professional road cyclist known for his versatility and achievements in both junior and professional ranks. He began his cycling career with notable success as a junior, including silver at the 2019 European Junior Road Championships and podium finishes in prestigious UCI Junior Nations’ Cup events such as the Course de la Paix Juniors and the Saarland Trofeo.
Ballerstedt joined the Jumbo-Visma Development Team in 2020, where he further honed his skills. In 2021, he claimed overall victory at the Tour du Pays de Montbéliard and finished second in the German Under-23 Time Trial Championships. Transitioning to the professional circuit in 2022 with Alpecin–Fenix (later Alpecin–Deceuninck), he secured the German Under-23 National Time Trial title and contributed to Germany’s mixed relay win at the European Road Championships.
Over his career, Ballerstedt demonstrated a strong affinity for time trials and classics, competing in events like Paris-Roubaix. He retired from professional cycling at the end of 2024 after completing two Vuelta a España appearances and achieving consistent results in European races
