Peter Stetina is a former WorldTour professional turned gravel racing pioneer. After competing in eight Grand Tours and achieving notable results such as supporting Ryder Hesjedal’s 2012 Giro d’Italia victory, Stetina transitioned to gravel racing in 2019. Since then, he has become a leading figure in the sport, winning events like the Belgian Waffle Ride and The Traka 360.
Now based in Sonoma County, California, Stetina is deeply connected to the local cycling community. He regularly trains on the Growler route of Levi’s GranFondo, which will give him an edge in the 2025 edition of this challenging race. Beyond competing, Stetina co-owns his own gravel event, Stetina’s Paydirt, held annually in Carson City, Nevada. This unique race combines timed segments with a festive atmosphere and has gained recognition for its inclusivity and innovation, including a significant focus on women’s racing.
Stetina is also committed to giving back to the sport. He title-sponsors the North Tahoe High School Mountain Bike Team and partners with junior cycling programs to inspire the next generation of riders. Through his racing achievements and community efforts, Stetina continues to shape the future of gravel cycling while staying true to its adventurous spirit.
