Sofía Gómez Villafañe, originally from Esquel, Patagonia, is a professional Argentinian cyclist who now resides in the US, having moved to Los Gatos, California, at age 12. She discovered mountain biking through the NorCal High School Mountain Bike Program -- a program that Levi's GranFondo has contributed significantly to over the years. Sofía then attended Fort Lewis College in Colorado, earning a degree in exercise science while competing in collegiate cycling. Guided by coach Carmen Small, she transitioned from collegiate racing to international success.

Sofía became the first Argentine woman since 2004 to compete in Olympic mountain biking at the Tokyo 2020 Games (held in 2021), finishing 23rd in the cross-country event. She is a two-time Argentinian national champion and has excelled across disciplines, including gravel racing. Notable achievements include victories at Unbound Gravel and the Life Time Grand Prix series.

Known for her versatility and tenacity, Sofía continues to inspire as a trailblazer in women’s cycling, aiming to foster growth and equality within the sport, and we expect her versatility will be on full display at this year's Growler.
