Grand Tour Watch Parties
JULY 23 & September 12
at Skipstone Estate
Join us this summer for two Sonoma County Bike Rides and Grand Tour gatherings that celebrate the crossroads of wine and cycling in from the beautiful Skipstone Winery on July 23rd and September 12th.

The Grand Tours come to Alexander Valley

This summer, Skipstone is opening their estate for The Grand Tours Collection

Two days built around the two races that turned a lot of us into cyclists in the first place. Good roads, good food, good wine, the race on the screen, and the kind of people you'd want next to you while you watch it. All of it in support of the King Ridge Foundation.

Schedule

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Ride with Levi Leipheimer
SAG Supported with water, electrolyte, and small bites. The longer route will keep rolling with short regroups. If you are not feeling it by mile 15 or so, we recommend you opt for the short route. Please be sure to download both routes to your GPS device before the ride.

12:00 PM - 3:00 PM French-Inspired Afternoon at the Estate
Reconvene at the winery for an afternoon inspired by the flavors and conviviality of the French countryside. Enjoy French-inspired fare, Skipstone wines, and continued Tour de France coverage as we celebrate the finish of this extraordinary journey.

Tour de France Celebration

Saturday, July 25

Start with a morning ride through Alexander Valley with Levi Leipheimer and friends. There will be an option to opt for a shorter, slower, more casual route so everyone has something well-suited for their preferred pace.

After the ride, return for French-inspired fare at Skipstone estate wines, and the race itself.

July 25 is the second summit finish on Alpe d'Huez, the stage where this year's Tour is very likely won and lost. No processional. Just the mountain sorting everyone out while you've got a glass in hand and good company around you.

Two route options:

70 Miles, 4,500': Long Route

35 Miles, 1,300': Short Route

Cost: $250 per guest

La Vuelta a España Celebration
Saturday, September 12

We may have saved the best for last. September 12 is the Vuelta's queen stage, and it finishes on the Collado del Alguacil: 8.3 kilometers averaging nearly 10%, with pitches that kick past 20%, the only Categoría Especial climb in the whole race.

More than 5,000 meters of climbing crammed into a single day, and the last true mountain standing between the contenders and Granada. If the red jersey is going to change hands, this is where it happens. Three weeks of racing, settled on one savage slope.

We'll ride Alexander Valley in the morning, then trade France for Spain — Spanish-inspired cooking, Skipstone wines, and the race tearing itself apart on the screen while we eat.

Two route options will be offered:

50 - 70 Miles and 30 - 40 Miles
(routes are TBD)

Cost: $250 per guest
